| IT'S REALLY NOT ALL THAT EXPENSIVE! |
HOW TO REGISTER!
HVABSA offers both on-line and in-person player registration.
Our on-line registration is done through sPortability. Just click on the logo below and you will be
taken to our league site on sPortability. From there, just click on the "league" you are interested in registering
for - then click on the registration link to bring up the appropriate forms. Be sure to create a user name and
password in sPortability so that next time you register, your information will automatically be filled in for you. sPortability
accepts all major credit cards. Let us know what you think about the sPortability registration process!
How Do I Register On-Line? | Step 1: Determine the Age Group
Your Child Will Play In - For baseball, determine your child’s
age as of May 1, 2009. This is the “league age” for baseball that should be used to determine
what age division to play in.
- For softball,
determine your child’s age as of Jan 1, 2009. This is the “league age”for softball
that should be used to determine what age division to play in.
- The league age determines what “league” they need to register in
- Example – If the "league age"
is 12 then they would play 11/12 for baseball or 12U for softball. If it is 11, then they would still play 11/12
for baseball or 12U for softball.
- Baseball - Playing Up: For baseball,
the league age is set in order to automatically prompt older kids to play up to the next division. Players
should register for the division in which they feel most suited, but should understand that the commissioners have the final
say on who can play in which division - you will be contacted if the commissioners see a problem.
- Softball - Playing Up: For softball, the league age is
strictly by ASA rules which only looks at the age of the player on Jan 1 of each year - the parent needs to make the decision
whether it is in the player's best interest to play up to the next higher age division. Players
should register for the division in which they feel most suited, but should understand that the commissioners have the final
say on who can play in which division - you will be contacted if the commissioners see a problem.
- Don't worry if you register for the wrong division - we will adjust the leagues and verify each player when
we start forming the teams, You will be contacted if your child is registered in the wrong league. If you have
questions, contact a league commissioner before registering.

|
| Step 2: Gather the information
you will need to register on-line – it is very important that when you register that the information is complete
and accurate: - Know the age division your child wants to register for –
sPortability calls each age division a “league”
- Basic Player information and parent contact
information
- A primary e-mail you want the league to use to contact you
- Your insurance carrier
(even if it is provided through work)
- Your child's doctor's name and telephone number
- Emergency contact information (contact person name and telephone number)
- Credit card (American Express, MC, VISA, Discover or Diners Club)
| Step 3: Log onto sPortability through our website (www.hvabsa.com) - Click on the symbol to the left of the “league”
you want to register your child with
- You will be taken to the home page of the “league” representing that age group
- Click on the “register now” link
- Follow the sPortability instructions
Step 4: Understand the sPortability
registration process - If you already have registered through sPortability
and if you created an account, you can use your user name and password to populate the fields with your previous data.
- Otherwise, simply follow the sPortability wizard which will guide you through the process
- After registering, you will receive and e-mail
confirmation within minutes accepting your registration.
- Also, after registering, you
will have the opportunity to save your data and to create a user name and password.
- Print
out and keep a copy of the registration confirmation for your files. If you don’t receive a confirmation,
contact the sPortability help desk or contact the league registration director.

WHAT DOES IT COST?
|
 |
|
Below you will see our current registration fees. The fees shown include concession stand fees (we pay our concession
stand workers so we don't have to ask you to volunteer) and city user fees. When comparing our costs to other
options, please consider that we do not do fundraisers or require you volunteer in the concession stand - we have added a
small amount of money to our fees to pay our concession stand workers. The fees are used to pay for the following:
-Game Costs (Field Rental, Umpires, Player Insurance, Game Balls, Trophies, etc) -Equipment Costs (Team Bags,
Batter Helmets, etc) -Field Maintenance (we work closely with the city on these costs) -Admininstrative Costs -Concession Stand Workers
There are no additional individual fundraisers required, however, every team is expected
to find one team sponsor ($250) to help cover the cost of uniforms in the Spring. Sponsors receive a plaque
with team photo and are listed on the sponsor page of the web page. The league may also conduct some additional
fundraising events to raise cash for special projects (example - our new scoreboards and batting cages).
Please help where you can!
In what division should your child play? (note that sPortability refers to them as "leagues")
To
determine the proper age division your player should register for, please see above under "How Do I Register
On-line".
