HIGHLAND VILLAGE AREA BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION

Development is a key aspect to any baseball player and team. As with all things in life, to get better at anything you must put in the work.

At HVABSA, we hope to equip parents and coach's alike to be able to help develop their player to their full potential. There are many videos, books and training aids that will assist to make all players better. We also believe, the better equipped the parents and coaches are in our league, the better equipped are players will be.

With that said, we have partnered with USA Baseball and believe their program is a great avenue for baseball development. Below is a link that is helpful for coaches and parents. Some of the links may require you to create a login.

USA Baseball Develops - training plans and modules

In addition to the above knowledge based training, it is very important for players to train outside of team practices. This can be as simple as a player with a tennis ball and a wall, or playing catch with Mom or Dad, all the way up to high level training at local facilities. Below are a couple of are partners who we believe do a great job at preparing youth baseball and softball players.

Graham Koonce - Graham was a professional baseball player who is a parent in our league, a long time board member and a great teacher of all aspect of the game, but especially hitting. Graham offers lessons in a local private facility. you can reach him via email at  Absolute Hitting.

DBat Lewisville - is a sponsor of HVABSA, they have a great local facility and several incredible instructors to help with all aspects of the game.
